As you can see, History Maker Golf's Course Collection TWENTY is different than any previous course collection!

First, it's not rooted in specific real-life courses. Rather, it's a collection of 72 holes inspired by popular, well-known golf course hole archetypes (such as the Island Green par 3, the driveable-over-the-tree-line par four, the uphill par five, and so on). Course Collection TWENTY lets YOU mix and match your OWN course layout, however you'd like it to be!

Second, Course Collection TWENTY's cards are presented in full color, with images for each hole. Everyone who plays golf board games wants vivid course imagery, but that poses problems with licensing of those images both from the courses themselves and the photographers who took the pictures. For this set, we used public domain, royalty-free golf course images and ran them through a common filter to create a unified appearance. We then put together a data set for our collection based on the universe of course characteristics we wanted it to represent and from that created individual profiles for each hole, assigned a specific golf course image, and built the course cards around these images, one-by-one. The result is a colorful, evocative and endlessly flexible "build your own golf course" collection made up of unique, individual holes that convey some of the beauty and splendor of golf.

This collection of golf course hole archetypes encompasses the gamut of difficulties and terrains: Twelve each par 3 and par 5, Forty-eight par 4 holes. (A typical golf course layout consists of three par 3s, three par 5s, the twelve par 4s.) Feel free to improvise. Each of the cards is identified by name, and also by number (lower right hand corner of the card). You can create a course, jot down the numbers, and easily re-create it months later, or share it with fellow gamers who also have this collection.

Courses can be created as desired--easy, tough, lots of sand, water, whatever. You can mix and match terrains and settings, or aim for a consistent look from the first hole to the last.

For those who would rather spend less time creating courses and more time playing, we've constructed the set so as to have four standard courses, ready-made, right out of the package. It's simple: each of the holes is named. If you sort the set by name color (green, brown, blue, black), you'll have four different eighteen-hole, par 72 courses, with matching terrain. Green is a mountain setting, brown is a "links" setting, blue is tropical/ocean and black is wooded.

Note that there are a number of holes which can be relevant in more than one terrain. #29, for example, could work with any geographic texture (we have it grouped with the ocean/tropical holes). So even when playing with our color-coded groupings, you still have lots of flexibility. And, of course, you'll be deciding the hole order, a thought-provoking endeavor which allows even an identical group of cards to play differently.

Here's your chance to amp up your golf game, and develop your own unique-to-you golfing universe, with Course Collection TWENTY for HISTORY MAKER GOLF Championship Golf board game!
