We're excited to put another year of exciting hockey action on your tabletop with the 2020-21 Pro Season card for HOCKEY BLAST Pro Hockey Game, available September 27th!

This set was a collaborative effort with PLAAY gamer Rob Gallamore. Rob is not only a passionate hockey and sports board game fan, but also a hockey scout and with many years of experience. Rob scouted out the real-life performances of the 2020-21 pro league and we worked with him to produce the ratings for the set. We then laid the cards out in a bold new card design (see illustration).

The 2020-21 Pro season, like most professional sports seasons during COVID, was—ahem—a different one. The league first had to realign the teams into new divisions because of the border closure. Among other things, this produced an all-Canadian division and geographical realignment of the US franchises. The scheduling was also affected as teams only played 56 regular season games, all within their own division.

When the games began some new forces came to the forefront. The Florida and Edmonton clubs returned to powerhouse status in their respective divisions. Toronto , Carolina, and Pittsburgh rose to win division titles, along with a highly regarded Colorado team. Las Vegas had another strong year, and along with Colorado led the league with 82 points.

There were many great individual performances as well. Edmonton’s McDavid continued his dominance along side teammate Draisaitl. New York's Fox had a strong year to earn accolades as the league’s top defender. Tampa Bay played the regular season without star forward Kucherov, but fared well anyway behind the strong play of goaltender Vasilevskiy, who won league honors. Vasilevskiy was instrumental in Tampa Bay collecting its second consecutive league championship, defeating an upstart Montreal team led by its own star netminder, Price.

All of 2020-21's memorable performances--individual and team--can be brought to life on your game table with the 2020-21 Pro Season card set for HOCKEY BLAST! You can re-create your favorite team's season, from opening night all the way to the playoffs (if you can get them there!). You can experience the highs and lows of the real-life pro season, the ups, the downs, and everything in between! Many fans complete their own full-season play-through in a matter of a few months. Or, conduct your OWN custom-designed tabletop hockey project—anything from a full-blown tournament to one-off "Game of the Week" match-ups—whatever time availability you have for your hobby, HOCKEY BLAST can fill it with exciting, realistic hockey action!

The 2020-21 Pro Season cards for HOCKEY BLAST give you complete say-so over all 31 pro hockey clubs, over 800 players individually rated. We've set it up so that your cards can be set up in opening night or playoff-push configuration. Traded players are marked with specific annotations which will make your set-up speedier. If you want to arrange your cards with season-opening rosters, remove one set of annotated players.. If you want to play with end-of-season rosters, remove the other. Easy!

We’ve also included a card for Tampa Bay’s Kucherov--he missed the regular season but played a key role in Tampa’s playoff run. (We figured you’d like to have him available!)

In addition to the cards, you get a season summary and an Instant Results chart that generates game winners with a single dice roll, perfect for quick-playing the rest of the league schedule to create context for a single-team season replay. The printed card set comes micro-perfed for quick separation so you can get right to the game, with each player's card decked out in team colors, and sells for $49 postage-paid. The PDF edition is $21 delivered instantly via a download link so you can print and play the same day! Available September 27th!
