Authentic, exciting Canadian pro football action never ends when you've got COLD SNAP Canadian Pro Football Game! The 2016 Pro Season for COLD SNAP is here!

The 2016 season ended in epic fashion as a sell-out crowd at Toronto's new outdoor venue watched Ottawa's fourth-year expansion club earn the city's first championship of any kind in 40 years, with a stunning 39-33 overtime win over highly-favored Calgary. Many expected the game to be a mis-match (despite the fact that the two clubs had earlier played to a 26-26 tie during the regular season), based on the western club's impressive run during the 2016 season: after dropping its opener to British Columbia, Calgary did not lose again until a meaningless defeat in the final game of the season—fourteen wins in a row and sixteen consecutive games without a loss. Ottawa, meanwhile, struggled to an 8-9-1 record, the first team in Canadian pro history to win its division with a losing record.

However, the records went out the window as the title game unfolded, Ottawa charging to an early lead, Calgary piecing together a miracle comeback in the final two minutes with a score, nearly pulling out a win in regulation before settling for overtime and watching three passes flutter incomplete after Ottawa had converted its first OT chance with a score. What a finish! Nearly 10 million Canadians watched at least part of the game on TV, along with another 2.5 million Americans.

With the 2016 Pro Season for COLD SNAP, you can re-live all the excitement of the Canadian pro league's 104th season, from start to finish and everything in between! COLD SNAP's meticulous attention to detail ensures that the Canadian league's gridiron stars will shine on your tabletop just as they did in real-life. You can expect that the league's big arms in Edmonton, Calgary and BC will each throw for 5000 yards, while Ottawa's QB tandem (its 41 year-old Championship MVP quarterback and rising-star youngster) will make the Ottawa COLD SNAP club just as dangerous as the real thing. Edmonton's duo of star pass-catchers will light it up in your league, and hard-charging RBs in Calgary and Toronto will battle it out for your rushing crown. It's like having a Canadian sports-center highlight reel running in your game room or den, whenever you want! Even the offensive linemen will perform as you expect them to: you'll nod in appreciation as Calgary's all-star OT—and other linemen of his caliber—creates huge running lanes for runners and keeps enemy pass rushers off the back of his all-league passer.

On defence, the Canadian game's reliance on swift, tough linebackers to both wrestle down runners and make fleet plays against the pass will be evident on your game table as well. You'll be amazed as the star middle linebackers in BC and Montreal make the same impressive plays for you that thrilled fans in real-life. All-Pro edge rushers in Calgary and Toronto will put the heat on enemy passers, with regular hurries and frequent sacks. And don't be surprised when Winnipeg's ball-hawking cornerback ends up as your league-leader in pass interceptions, just as he did in real-life!

And the special-teams guys will perform just as you expect them to as well. Winnipeg's award-winning kicker will earn personal accolades from you for his kicking accuracy, while Saskatchewan's strong-legged punter will most likely lead your league in yardage and average distance per punt. BC's fleet return man will provide the same undercurrent of expectancy on your tabletop as he did in real-life, always a threat to go the distance for a quick, possibly game-changing score. Exciting!

But while COLD SNAP is designed to realistically re-create the Canadian league in all its glory, sometimes breaks and bounces—not to mention the general unpredictability of the Canadian game—will have an effect, too. Perhaps a key injury or untimely turnover will shave a game off Ottawa's win column, and catapult Montreal, Hamilton or perhaps even Toronto to the top of your Eastern division! Four clubs out west had winning records in 2016—a single strong playoff performance from any one of them could be enough to put them into the title game! However your season turns out—or even if you just play one-off games, outside of a season-long campaign—it'll be memorable and exciting experience for you!

The 2016 Pro Season for COLD SNAP includes over 300 players individually rated for their real-life pro abilities, arranged on team cards representing all nine Canadian pro franchises. You also get a summary card that includes ratings for "fringe" players (players who played sparingly in 2016), a synopsis of the season and an "Instant Results" matrix that allows you to determine winners of games with a single dice roll—perfect for re-creating divisional races while you conduct a full-season play-through of your favorite team. Available in printed form (black and white) on card stock, $16 postage-paid* or get the PDF edition in team colors for $12.
